We are a group of dedicated women who are committed to promote the advancement of all women in their personal and professional development, while influencing government and improving community, by providing a friendly, supportive forum for networking and growth.

The Albuquerque Chapter of Professional Business Women actively supports the PBW-ABQ mission of promoting the advancement of all women in their personal and professional development and providing a supportive forum for networking and growth. PBW-ABQ likes to recognize individuals who are pursuing excellence in their careers and have made a valuable contribution to their communities.

Nominations are open to female & male residents between the ages of 19-30, who reside and work within Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties.

One may nominate themselves or have another person nominate them. Both forms of nomination are judged equally.

THE CRITERIA
ABQ-PBW Young Professional nominees must meet each of the following criteria
•The individual is a leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity, initiative and integrity in her business or profession
•The individual provides service to her community to improve the quality of life for others
•The individual is a role model for women personally and professionally

COMPLETING THE FORM
•Nominations for the ABQ-PBW Young Professional must be submitted using this form
•E-mail Kristen Briggs at kbriggs@generalmailingnm.com for an electronic copy of the form
•Information submitted should support the award criteria of achievement, leadership and service
•2 letters of recommendation are required for each nominee; one professional and one personal

THE PROCESS
A selection committee consisting of a diverse group of leaders from the community will review all nomination forms and select the “Top 15.” Interviews will then be conducted with these nominees and they will be judged on their speaking skills, interview skills, presentation of professional accomplishments, and presentation of service completed in the community. A short 4 minute speech will be required from each nominee as part of the judging process. Speech subject may be on any issue, topic or educational subject that the nominee feels is important and pertaining to women’s issues.

Interviews will be held Friday, February 4th, 2011, throughout the day at 30-minute intervals.

A light Continental Breakfast will be served on Friday, February 4th, 2011 at 8:30AM-9:45AM to welcome the “Top 15” and to introduce the selection committee. 4-minute speeches from all nominees will be given at this time. Later that evening at 6:00PM, hor’dourves will be served and the ABQ-PBW Young Professional Recipient will be announced.

Location to be determined and announced at a later date for breakfast, speeches, interviews, and evening hor’dourves.
